Women’s Handgun/Shotgun/Rifle Clinics

We have women’s clinics covering the entire spectrum of firearms, including handguns, shotguns, and rifles.  We concentrate predominantly on self defense, but we can also address sporting issues with the different weapons. Our classes are designed to address the specific needs of women in a friendly atmosphere with other women.

Our basic class introduces you to the types and brands of handguns currently on the market.  You will be able to try a variety of fireamrs to familiarize yourself with shooting concepts, and also see what type of gun fits your needs.

You do not need any of your own equipment for our basic clinic.  You will need your own equipment for more advanced classes.

 Clinic Topics include:

  • Introduction to firearms types and advantages of different designs
  • Examination of different calibers
  • Learning about accessories (we all love that, don’t we?)
  • Learning to overcome your fear of firearms (the are only tools, power-tools)
  • Shooting fundamentals
  • Markswomanship
  • Proper weapons handling and manipulation
  • Overcoming malfunctions and stoppages
  • Weapons retention
  • Shooting multiple targets
  • Shooting advancing and moving targets
  • Shooting while moving
  • Use of protective cover and concealment
  • Basic room entry tactics
  • Transitioning from shotgun to handgun
  • Realistic scenarios meant to challenge you both mentally and physically

Please see your individual class flier for particulars on your class!

Recommended Equipment:

The shooting range is located in the National Forest and is a rugged outdoor environment.  There is no electricity and no running water.  There are Porta-Potties available.

Please have a full tank of gasoline and have your vehicle up to service. You will drive a 12 mile mountain road to get to the range. If possible, drive with a friend because there are no services on that road. There is no cellular phone service in the national forest!!!

Be prepared to protect yourself from the elements. Outdoor clothing (hat, long sleeve top, jeans or outdoor long pants, hiking boots or athletic shoes), sunglasses, sunscreen, water, lunch, and snacks (we will provide water and appetizers throughout the day).  If you’re allergic to bees or other insects remember to bring your prescription medication.

Women’s Self-Defense Clinics:

We offer a variety of unarmed self-defense clinics.  These classes include a discussion of awareness skills, home preparation, and hands-on self-defense techniques to aid you in avoiding, and if necessary defending yourself against an aggressive and violent offender.

Clinics are run in half-day and full-day formats, designed to fit the varied needs of women of all ages.

This program is our oldest seminar-based course. We have taught thousands of women over the last 18 years.
